Cavium Networks Introduces Industry Leading Integrated ECONA ARM Processor for Small Form Factor Applications
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 2, 2009 – Cavium Networks (NASDAQ : CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications, storage, wireless, video and security applications, today announced the introduction of the ECONA™ CNS2135 ARM SOC solution for small form factor and low power network and storage applications. The CNS2135 SOC solution will be used by manufacturers to build network and storage applications like Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliances and Internet download and streaming systems. Cavium Networks’ CNS2135 and the related CNS2135-TK network module are on display at Cavium Networks’ suite #1038 at Computex in Taipei, Taiwan from June 2 to June 5, 2009.
The CNS2135 is available as a stand-alone processor and in a network module form factor called the CNS2135-TK. The network module consists of a 2-layer PCB design with a small form factor of 74mm x 40mm x 19mm. The module host an ECONA CNS2135 ARM processor with embedded 4Mx16 Mbyte SDRAM, 1MByte Serial NOR flash, integrated Ethernet port and a USB 2.0 host connector in a ready-to-use compact dongle form factor. The module is available with ready-to-use software applications that provide FTP server, SAMBA server, Bit Torrent (BT) download, iTune server, uPNP AV and Printer Server functionality. The application software supports standard host Operating Systems including XP, Vista/Mac OSX/Linux (SAMBA) and FAT32 file system format for hard drives with up to 2TB capacity. The network module provides network storage performance with throughput up to 8 MByte with 4 unique FTP users/ 4 unique Samba users with a total of 32 TCP simultaneous connections.

- One LAN port with 10/100 Base-TX, Auto MDI/MDI-X with RJ45 connector
- 1 Port USB2.0/1.1 for mass storage /printer interface
- Up to 8MByte storage read/write throughput
- Major software including FTP server, samba server, BT download, media server & print server
- 74mm x 40mm x 19mm compact dongle form factor
