Carbon Further Expands ARM IP Library
Update: ARM to Offer Cycle-Accurate Virtual Prototyping for Complex SoCs Through an Asset Acquisition from Carbon Design Systems (October 20, 2015)
Library Now Includes All Cortex Processors, AMBA AXI Fabric, Peripherals
ACTON, MASS. –– December 10, 2009 –– Carbon Design Systems™, a leading supplier of tools for the automatic creation, validation and deployment of system-level models, today announced immediate availability of a comprehensive array of implementation-accurate models of ARM® intellectual property (IP) cores. The expanded portfolio of Carbonized ARM IP now includes the entire Cortex™ and ARM11™ families of processors, along with ARM9™ and ARM7™ family of processors. In addition, it includes support for the ARM AMBA® NIC301 Network Interconnect, as well as the most popular AMBA AXI, AHB and APB peripherals. Carbonized models of ARM IP are compiled directly from the original register transfer level (RTL) code to ensure 100% implementation accuracy. These models can be easily integrated into any commercial virtual prototype system used for architectural analysis and pre-silicon hardware/software validation, including Carbon SoC Designer and OSCI SystemC platforms. The models feature debugger integrations for both software developers and hardware engineers with support for semi-hosting, break pointing and single-stepping. “Carbon now has models for all of ARM’s newest processors, as well as most of the remaining ARM IP in use today,” states Tom Rathje, Carbon’s vice president of Engineering. “This puts us in a unique position to quickly roll out cycle accurate models of new ARM processors.
