Evatronix USB 2.0 Controller Secures USB Certification for Richnex High Speed USB Transceivers
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Evatronix IP Business (Jun 13, 2013)
Bielsko-Biala/Poland & Hsintien City/Taiwan -- January 18th, 2010 - The silicon Intellectual Property (IP) provider, Evatronix SA and the mixed signal IC design company Richnex announced today the successful USB certification of the Richnex USB transceiver - RN1170, in which the Evatronix USB High Speed On-The-Go Controller IP was implemented as a reference design.
“We are pleased to see Evatronix High Speed USB OTG controller helped Richnex certify their product,” said Dariusz Kaczmarczyk, USB Product Line Manager. “Our entire line of USB controllers is USB-certified, with the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed controller pending the certification. We consider the fact of using our USB controller for the USB certification as the ultimate proof of the quality of the controller.”
" RN1170 is the only USB High Speed Transceiver IC that features an integrated charge pump capable of supplying 100mA current. With a compact 5mm x 5mm QFN package, it is ideal for embedded host or OTG applications in portable devices. Our complete line up of USB transceiver products including different packages and feature set are USB-IF certified and proven to work flawlessly with the Evatronix High Speed USB OTG controller." added Larry Huang from Richnex Microelectronics Corporation sales & marketing VP. About Richnex RN 1170 Transceiver
RN1170 is a high performance USB 2.0 transceiver chip which supports low speed (LS), full speed (FS) and high speed (HS) data rates as well as USB On-The-Go (OTG) modes. Its UTMI+ Low Pin Interface (ULPI) provides connection to LINK controllers while an additional CEA-2011 compliant I2C interface provides connection to non-ULPI LINK controllers. An up to 8KV HBM ESD protection circuit is implemented to the USB connection pins providing stronger ESD protection while reducing BOM at the same time. With a built-in 5V 100mA charge pump and a small foot print 40 pin QFN package, RN1170 is the most versatile solution for USB 2.0 OTG transceiver applications.About Evatronix USB High Speed On-The-Go Controller IP
The USBHS-OTG-SD controller from Evatronix provides USB Dual-role device interface that meets the 2.0 revision of the USB specification and On-The-Go supplement to the USB 2.0 specification. The controller supports both Host Negotiation and Session Request Protocols. The USBHS-OTG-SD, when set in the host mode, supports a single device operating at all USB speeds – low, full and high. When acting as a peripheral, the USB-OTG-SD supports full and high speed transfers.
The controller implements up to 15 IN and 15 OUT configurable endpoints, with all transfers supported by Endpoint 0. USBHS-OTG-SD implements either UTMI+ or ULPI interface for the transceiver and gives a choice of a 32-bit PVCI or AMBA® AHB system bus interfaces.
