IPextreme and Globetech Solutions Announce Availability of Industry's First Complete IEEE 1149.7 cJTAG IP Solution
Complete SIP + VIP Solution Ensures Easy 1149.7 cJTAG Integration Into Any SoC Design
CAMPBELL, Calif., Feb 10, 2010 -- IPextreme(R) Inc., the company bringing famous IP (intellectual property) to system-on-chip (SoC) designers worldwide and Globetech Solutions, a leader in verification automation solutions for the SoC design-for-test and debug ecosystem, today announced the availability of the electronics industry's first complete IEEE 1149.7 cJTAG IP solution. The IEEE 1149.7 cJTAG standard uses fewer pins and maintains backward compatibility with IEEE 1149.1-based hardware and software. The solution, comprising IPextreme's cJTAG silicon IP (SIP) and Globetech's cJTAG verification IP (VIP) products, will help system designers quickly and easily take advantage of the many performance and cost saving features of the 1149.7 standard.
"Texas Instruments, a major contributor to the IEEE 1149.7 specification, has been working with both IPextreme and Globetech to ensure that both the SIP and VIP comply with the IEEE 1149.7 standard and that the combined solution works well in real world SoC design activities," said Stephen Lau, emulation technology product manager, Texas Instuments (TI). "TI is committed to the success of cJTAG and having this complete IP solution available will accelerate its adoption."
Although the IEEE 1149.7 specification was ratified in December of 2009 by the IEEE 1149.7 working group, IPextreme and Globetech have been working together for over a year to ensure interoperability of their respective SIP and VIP products.
"Ease of integration and having a complete solution is critical to the success of any semiconductor IP core," said Rick Tomihiro, VP of Marketing, IPextreme. "Our close working relationship with Globetech, a leader in design verification and test solutions, will ensure that our customers will have interoperable world class VIP available for integration of our cJTAG SIP into their SoC."
"IPextreme is leading the market with their cJTAG SIP core," said Iraklis Diamantidis, Director for Verification IP, Globetech Solutions. "By matching their semiconductor IP with Globetech's powerful verification suite and compliance management system, we are bringing a very high-quality cJTAG IP offering to market, backed by expert support for the IEEE 1149.7 specification."
