Norm Armour, VP & GM, Fab 8 for GLOBALFOUNDRIES will present to the New England Semiconductor industry. Prior to GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Armour served as VP of fab consulting at Applied Materials, and VP & GM for LSI’s Gresham operations. Armour also spent six years at AMD as director of operations first at Fab 10 and then Fab 25, and participated in the initial programming of GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Dresden operations.
GLOBALFOUNDRIES is the first truly global leading‐edge semiconductor manufacturing company. The company was launched in March 2009 through a partnership between AMD and the Advanced Technology Investment Company, with over $6B in investments planned worldwide. The company acquired Chartered Semiconductor in late 2009. GLOBALFOUNDRIES currently has five 200mm fabs and two 300mm fabs in production, and one 300mm fab in New York under construction. Fab 8 in
Saratoga County, New York is currently the largest commercial capital expansion project in the USA. Norm will present an overview on GLOBALFOUNDRIES, New York foundry specifics, and more. There will be plenty of time for Q&A and networking. Light appetizers and refreshments will be provided along with a cash bar. In addition, the networking portion will include an “information exchange area”, which will consist of tables set up for the sole purpose of leaving your corporate information for others to peruse or take away.
Intrinsix Corp., a leading independent electronic design company, is sponsoring the venue. We are seeking additional sponsors to cover food, beverage and other incidentals. If you or your company would like to help defray food and beverage costs, please contact Cliff Hirsch directly. This is our opportunity to show GLOBALFOUNDRIES that New England is a vibrant semiconductor region. To achieve this, we need your turnout! Please RSVP and encourage your colleagues to attend.
This first of its kind semiconductor event in New England promises to be fun, exciting, and the premier semiconductor networking event of the year.
The event will be limited to 300 people. RSVP by contacting Cliff Hirsch (+1-781-647-8800) or in the event listing in LinkedIn:
