Genesys and Dolphin Integration announce their renewed cooperation in the field of microcontroller thanks to the quality of support
Grenoble, France and Taiwan, April 9, 2010 – Genesys, the Taiwan Fabless Supplier of SoCs for high-speed I/O communication applications, and Dolphin Integration, the provider of high-performance and low-power Virtual Components, announce their cooperation for microcontroller Core.
For ensuring a competitive edge on the market of High-speed I/O communication applications, it no longer is sufficient to maximize low cost for the SoCs.
It is essential to limit development costs, and to minimize time-to-market. As a result, the quality of service and support offered with Virtual Components of Silicon IP have become a crucial criterion for customers to select their providers.
“During our exchanges with Dolphin Integration, we were convinced by the different levels of support offered by this Silicon IP provider” confides Tina CHEN, Vice-President of R&D at Genesys Logic Inc. “Indeed, we performed a complete review of the deliverables with the Dolphin Integration FAE, which gave us the possibility to get a deep understanding of the product, and to quickly master its use”.
Moreover, the support offered by Dolphin Integration is extendable to a flexible Support Contract, which involves the provision of an expert in Microcontroller integration; users then benefit from answers to its hard questions, from tips and advices to design their SoC or PCB.
“We are proud to have been chosen by Genesys for embedding our Microcontroller core in their next generation of chips” confides Jean-Francois Pollet, Vice President for Product Development at Dolphin. “It demonstrates that the selection of a Silicon IP partner relies not only on intrinsic performances of their cores, but also on their capability to provide a complete solution, including support to integration. Cost of integration indeed have been often neglected by SoC integrators in the past, but it has now become a significant part of their concern and an opportunity to increase their RoI by saving time and cost.”
