RT-RK Delivers IP Solution for Android Devices -- Porting Android on DTVs and STBs
Teams With MIPS Technologies in Supporting Android Applications in Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Networking and More
NOVI SAD, Serbia, Apr 13, 2010 -- RT-RK, a leading provider of embedded system design and system software development in the field of consumer electronics, today announced successful porting of a big-endian version of the Android(TM) platform for the MIPS(R) architecture. This achievement is a milestone in Android on MIPS proliferation. Companies can now leverage the power of Android for both big-endian and little-endian versions of MIPS processors for their SoCs targeting devices such as digital TVs (DTVs), set-top boxes (STBs) and a range of other applications in the digital home and beyond.

The big-endian version of Android is available immediately and includes support for select MIPS-Based(TM) platforms. The source code will be publicly available on www.mipsandroid.org.
