CoreEL Launches Advanced Video Decoding Solutions
NABSHOW 2010 LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- April 14, 2010 -- CoreEL Technologies, one of the leading digital video IP core solution providers today announced the availability of three new video decoding IP solutions that include, an integrated Broadcast grade H.264 and MPEG-2 HD decoder solution on a single Xilinx® Virtex®-6FPGA., a MPEG-2 4:2:2@HL 1080p60 decoding IP Core working on the high performance Virtex-6 FPGA and a H264/MPEG2 decoding solution working on a low-cost Spartan®-6 FPGA. New IP Solutions are being showcased at their booth SU7622 at the NAB 2010 Show at Las Vegas.
New decoder solutions support resolutions up to 1920x1080 for both progressive & interlaced video with frames rates up to 60fps at bit rates up to 100Mbps. In addition, the decoders support special features such as faster than real-time decoding, error concealment and seamless stream splicing which can bring-in significant performance gain for applications such as Video Play-out Servers, Satellite News Gathering and Ad-insertion.
Ben Runyan, Sr. Manager for Broadcast Marketing at Xilinx said “CoreEL is one of our leading partners for digital video IP Cores, constantly innovating to offer customers the highest possible performance in their solutions. With the availability of H.264 & MPEG-2 decoding on a single high performance Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA and availability of the cost effective Spartan-6 FPGA HD decoding solution, customers can achieve a much faster time to market.”
“Addition of the MPEG-2 decoder solution enables our customers to address both the present and legacy content on a single chip and provides them immense flexibility in handling mixed content and ad-insertion applications. With the launch of the low cost decoding solution on Spartan 6 FPGAs, we enable more OEMs to offer broadcast grade HD decode facility to their customers” said Guruprasad M P –Sr. Manager of Marketing at CoreEL.
New decoding solutions join a stable of field proven, industry’s highest performance H.264 High Profile 4:2:2 10-bit decoding solutions, catering to the most demanding contribution applications. At the show, CoreEL is also showcasing its high density multi-channel H.264 Hi422 decoding solution delivering two 1080i60/ one 1080p30 + three 720P/ four 720p decoded streams simultaneously. CoreEL offers flexible source code and netlist licensing models for Xilinx Virtex FPGAs and Spartan-6 FPGAs. For more information write to videoips@coreel.com.
