Sapiennt Systems: Powerful Software for IC Industry Decision Makers
“Today’s IC Designs Are Too Big To Fail”
FREMONT, Calif. – May 26, 2010 – Software startup Sapient Systems today introduced Sapient-IC, the first in a line of a new class of product-management software specifically tailored to address the explosive growth in complexity and management facing decision makers in the IC industry. Sapient-IC is available as a free-trial download at www.sapient-inc.com. Sapient will exhibit at DAC (Design Automation Conference) in Anaheim, June 13-18, Booth 375.
“Today’s IC designs are too big to fail,” said Subash Peddu, Founder and CEO of Sapient Systems, Inc. “There are multiple levels of decision-making complexity to consider, including market requirements and market windows; design tradeoffs, budgets and schedule; and profitability. Sapient-IC is the first product to collect data from every organizational level and offer real-time ‘what-if’ analyses to management. With one mouse click, key decision makers can get a comprehensive view of how each choice impacts their design and bottom line.”
Overview
Sapient-IC is the company’s first product, rolling out after many years of R&D. Peddu’s long experience in IC design and management led him to form the company to address the rise in IC size, cost, complexity, and the consequent mountain of data – often contained in a seemingly endless stream of spreadsheets – which managers must sift through to reach critical decisions.
Sapient-IC is a collaborative software tool that runs on a Windows platform, providing data-driven insights to direct, optimize, plan and manage all aspects of the IC product lifecycle – from market research and product definition, to design implementation and product launch. The integrated platform encompasses data integration and predictive analytics to evaluate target market size, requirements, schedules leading to accurate product planning, and alignment to strategic and financial business objectives such as market share, profit margins, ROI and breakeven analysis.
Features & Benefits
- Integrated Data Platform to aggregate, manage and synchronize all data from product marketing, product and design management, and budgeting
- Over 1000+ analytics to forecast and evaluate the IC product strategy
- One-click “what-if” analysis to guardband and manage risk against growing die size or schedule slips and the impact on product financials
- A web-based Dashboard for executive review
Price/Availability/Roadmap
Sapient-IC is currently available free of charge on a trial basis at www.sapient-inc.com. The commercial version is now shipping and is priced at U.S. $4,999. Sapient will be introducing additional products over the next year for FPGA designers, and a comprehensive suite of tools that will provide guidance for management to make tradeoffs between multiple design choices, e.g., whether to implement a design in an ASIC or FPGA.
