Synopsys and Lattice Renew OEM Relationship for FPGA Synthesis Software
Technology-Leading Synopsys FPGA Synthesis Tools Deliver Highly Optimized Results to Designers Using Lattice FPGAs
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and HILLSBORO, Ore., Aug. 10, 2010 -- Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNPS), a world leader in software and IP for semiconductor design, verification and manufacturing, and Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: LSCC) today announced a multi-year extension of Lattice's OEM agreement for the Synopsys Synplify® FPGA synthesis tools, which Lattice has been offering to its customers for more than 10 years. Under the terms of the agreement, Lattice Semiconductor will provide specific versions of Synopsys' Synplify Pro® and Synplify® software as part of its programmable logic design environments, including the recently announced Lattice Diamond™ FPGA design environment. This agreement ensures continued high-quality, reliable and fast logic synthesis solutions for designers targeting Lattice CPLD and FPGA products.
"Our long-standing relationship with Synplicity, and now Synopsys, allows us to provide a complete, best-in-class, FPGA synthesis design flow to target cost-sensitive, low power applications," said Mike Kendrick, manager of software product planning at Lattice. "Our strong working relationship continues to drive the quality of results with each product release and enables our customers to more quickly achieve their demanding cost, performance and power goals."
"The extension of this long-standing collaboration will allow us to continue providing our mutual customers with optimized logic synthesis solutions for designing Lattice FPGAs," said Jeff Garrison, director of FPGA marketing at Synopsys. "The Synopsys Synplify and Synplify Pro synthesis products have been optimized to take full advantage of the unique architectural features of Lattice's programmable logic devices and provide designers with the quality of results and productivity required to address the needs of their markets."
The Synplify software for Lattice FPGAs provides designers with a timing-driven synthesis solution that meets timing requirements while simultaneously minimizing the amount of FPGA resources needed to implement the logic. This results in lower overall cost. The Synplify Pro software for Lattice provides broad language support, including SystemVerilog and VHDL 2008, which ensures that the newest and most productive HDL constructs are available to Lattice FPGA designers.
Availability
Synplify and Synplify Pro for Lattice are available now and can be obtained directly from Lattice Semiconductor through the Lattice Diamond and ispLEVER® design software families. In addition to Synplify and Synplify Pro, these products include a comprehensive set of tools for design tasks such as project management, IP integration, design planning, place and route and in-system logic analysis.
