Trilinear Technologies Adds DV Decode Solution to IP Core Portfolio
New Core Supports the Complete Range of DV Standards
LAKE OSWEGO, Oregon – October 18, 2010 – Imaging and display intellectual property (IP) provider, Trilinear Technologies, Inc., today announced the newest member of its multimedia IP core family, the M11 DV Decoder. Combining high performance, low cost and high-quality video imaging, the DV Decoder core can be integrated into System-on-Chip (SoC) or FPGAs for camcorder applications, as well as professional video editing, broadcast, medical and surveillance applications.
The M11 DV Decoder core provides an effective solution for a wide range of ASIC and FPGA implementations. The core is capable of decoding the full range of standard and high definition video resolutions including 480i, 576i, 720p and 1080i at both 50Hz and 60Hz. The decoder is also fully compliant with the IEC 61834 family of standards as well as the SMPTE 314M and 370M standards. The M11 DV Decoder provides a robust host interface with low software processing requirements.
"Trilinear has been delivering high-performance and cost-effective digital video solutions into the marketplace for use primarily in consumer applications," said Carl Ruggiero, chief executive officer at Trilinear Technologies, Inc. "The M11 core will help our SoC and FPGA customers to improve their consumer video products and also extend the reach of our IP products into the professional camera, broadcast, medical and security markets."
The Trilinear M11 DV core ships with the Viper Development System and a complete Software Development Kit (SDK) featuring real time application software for the evaluation of core performance. The development system includes a host processor and peripheral suite controlled via the TRIMON ROM monitor. TRIMON is a full-featured monitor with a robust API that offers driver level access to the onboard hardware. Customer applications can be developed, downloaded and tested from within the TRIMON interface, allowing for simultaneous hardware and software development efforts.
