Faraday's USB 3.0 Solution, from PHYs to Device Controllers, Are All Certified with Logo on Products
Hsinchu, Taiwan, Oct. 26, 2010 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035) today announced that its USB 3.0 device controller has passed USB-IF certification via its storage products and obtained the USB 3.0 logo. Since the corresponding PHY has also been certified through products months ago, the complete USB 3.0 solutions can be adopted by all the USB 3.0 device applications, from the bridge of the external HDD, SSD, flash disk, to the coming SoC integration.
"The certification of the products combining Faraday's USB 3.0 PHY with device controller represents our capability to offer the complete and reliable USB 3.0 solutions, especially in the connection of PHY/controller interface,“ said Steve Wang, Chief Strategy Officer at Faraday. “From the second half of this year, USB 3.0 acceptance has been escalating obviously. In both host and device, Faraday's certified solutions can fulfill our customers' current and future applications, and have poised for playing one of the most major roles in the entire product chain."
Faraday's USB 3.0 device controller was certified in the USB-IF workshop held in Taipei, Taiwan at the end of September, 2010. This IP comes with smaller gate count compared with competitors' solutions. It can be configured to meet customers' exact requirements with more competitive area. Faraday also provides an ARM-compatible platform to facilitate customers' early software development and functional evaluation.
