Axell Corporation Chooses Forte's High-level Synthesis and Design IP
Cynthesizer SystemC Synthesis, CellMath Floating Point IP to Design Next-Generation Pachinko Machine Devices
SAN JOSE, CALIF. –– October 26, 2010 –– Axell Corporation of Tokyo has selected Cynthesizer™ SystemC high-level synthesis software and CellMath intellectual property (IP) from Forte Design Systems™ for development of its multifunction graphics and audio system-on-chip (SoC) designs.
As a leading provider of advanced Pachinko Machine devices, Japanese gaming devices for amusement, Axell Corporation’s state-of-the-art SoCs demand the latest design software. Axell decided to move to a high-level synthesis flow to improve design turnaround time (TAT) and overall quality or results (QoR). After evaluating multiple high-level synthesis tools, Axell ultimately chose Forte’s Cynthesizer for its electronic system level (ESL) design needs. Key criteria in the decision were tool maturity, advanced features for silicon creation, verification integration and quality of results (QoR), including seamless support for floating-point datatypes.
According to Koji Kanie, senior design manager at Axell Corporation: “Cynthesizer’s advanced feature set, QoR and overall capabilities made it the obvious choice for the design of our next-generation graphics designs. Combined with Forte’s CellMath floating point IP, Cynthesizer will provide us with a significant improvement in productivity and quality of results.”
“It’s exciting to add Axell Corporation to our list of leading edge companies that have embraced Cynthesizer for high-level synthesis,” adds Brett Cline, Forte’s vice president of marketing and sales. “As a key player in the Pachinko Machine device industry, Axell Corporation sets the standard for quality, cost effectiveness and reliability.”
