Recore Systems selects Barco Silex as strategic design services partner
Enschede, The Netherlands – November 3, 2010 – Recore Systems selects Barco Silex as strategic partner to develop the Moon family of sophisticated reconfigurable digital radio/TV receiver semiconductor devices.
A Moon device natively demodulates any combination of DAB, DAB+, DMB and FM and decodes and plays digital audio/video content. The versatile and low-power Moon family is based on Recore’s state-of-the-art reconfigurable Montium® Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology. This allows (existing) Moon devices to be upgraded or reconfigured to receive upcoming digital broadcasting standards.
Recore will release a family of Moon devices targeting various designs: from standard digital radio to feature rich digital TV. Additional reference designs enable module manufacturers to swiftly meet OEM’s and ODM’s expectations. Each device provides ample connectivity for integration in a broad range of target products. Manufacturers of digital multimedia radios can quickly build a cost-effective product around a Moon device with only a minimum number of external components.
Paul Heysters, CEO of Recore Systems: ‘In the near future consumers will be able to experience a whole new generation of portable digital radio and TV devices that offer many new features and services. We are very motivated to work on the underlying technology. We only work with the best partners available and are glad to make use of Barco Silex’s excellent knowledge of system-on-chip integration.’
Geert Decorte, Sales & Marketing Manager of Barco Silex S.A. ‘We are glad that an ambitious company like Recore Systems has found their way to our design services. We are confident that we can help them making their innovative design into a successful product.’
