Evatronix Ultra-High Resolution Display Controller IP Core Ready for 4K Digital Cinema Applications
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Evatronix IP Business (Jun 13, 2013)
Smooth performance of 30 frames per second at all resolutions and AMBA® AXI interface facilitate implementation in advanced SoC designs.
Bielsko-Biala/Poland, November 8th, 2010 - Evatronix SA has released the next generation of its high-performance display controllers: the DISPLAY-CTRL-4K. This Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) compliant IP core supports resolutions of up to 4096x2160 pixels with 24 bits/pixel color depth. At Full HD resolution, the controller displays 60 frames per second, with a frame color depth of 48 bits/pixel.
The new display controller uses a standard AMBA® AXI interface for easy system-on-chip (SoC) integration. The core is highly configurable and ready for advanced customer optimization. The settings include key AMBA® AXI parameters: the width of the master data read and address buses as well as the size of the slave address bus. The core’s Special Functions Register enables setting of up to 16 multiple outstanding transactions or long bursts in any combination, and gives control over all horizontal and vertical timing parameters.
Designers can seamlessly match the display controller with other system components such as any AMBA® AXI bus compatible memory controller and DVI or HDMI transmitters. The core can also output data to a DisplayPort interface by implementing the Main Video Stream Source component functionality.
