Silicon Hive Introduces Camera Application Solution for Smart Phones
HiveGo CSS3205 brings high-performance imaging apps to smart phones for unmatched user experience
Eindhoven, The Netherlands -- November 17, 2010 -- Silicon Hive B.V. (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) announced HiveGo CSS3205 - the newest member of its family of HiveGo CSS Camera System Solution IP products - at the 6Sight conference in San Jose, USA today. CSS3205 can be licensed together with the new imaging software application packages HiveUX and HiveUX+, bringing unrivaled image and video capturing experience to smart phones.
CSS3205 leverages the underlying technology of silicon and market proven HiveGo CSS 3000 series that successfully combines the best-in-class imaging algorithms with parallel processing architectures. The CSS3205 complements the image signal processing pipe in smart phone application processors with a power-efficient C-programmable application environment, thereby enabling rapid and comprehensive upgrades of smart phones with differentiating camera software applications.
The standard user experience package HiveUX 1.0 offers solutions for the photo capture and video recording challenges, smart phone camera users face in many daily life situations. It includes powerful and effective apps such as face technologies (detection, tracking, recognition, and beautification), advanced noise reduction and multi-axis video stabilization including rolling shutter compensation.
The creativity of camera phone enthusiasts will be fueled by the premium user experience package HiveUX+ 1.0. Computational photography apps such as All-in-Focus and High-Dynamic-Range bring immersive experiences when capturing images of the world in novel ways. JPEG-XR enables archiving these images as never before.
The CSS3205 industry-standard software development kit including application programming interface enables application processor suppliers and smart phone OEMs to efficiently port additional apps for further product differentiating and optimum product positioning.
“Driven by consumer demand for increased user experience, the rapid introduction of new camera features requires upgrading state-of-the-art application processors with high-performance, fully software programmable image processing capabilities,“ said Dr. Geoff Burns, VP Product Management of Silicon Hive. “CSS3205 offers the best-in-class solution not only to future-proof mobile application processor for the emerging computational photography applications but also to leverage a global ecosystem of innovative imaging software application partners to provide a competitive camera experience.”
