Cosmic Circuits to Develop Foundation Analog IP for GLOBALFOUNDRIES 55nm, 40nm and 28nm Technologies
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Cosmic Circuits (May 23, 2013)
Bangalore, India and Campbell, California, 17th December 2010: Cosmic Circuits, a leading provider of differentiated Analog and Mixed-Signal IP cores, today announced that GLOBALFOUNDRIES, a leading provider of advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology, has selected them for foundation analog IP development in 55nm, 40nm and 28nm.
Cosmic Circuits offers a broad portfolio of differentiated Analog IP cores in nanometer technology nodes covering Data-Converters, Analog-Front-End platforms for Wireless and Audio, Power-Management, Clocking and MIPI Interfaces.
As part of this collaboration, Cosmic Circuits will develop system-clocking PLLs in the GLOBALFOUNDRIES 55LPe, 40LP, 28SLP and 28HPP process technologies, and will offer SoC designers a wide range of analog and digital PLLs to choose from – these include PLLs that support input frequencies down to 32kHz without requiring any external components, PLLs that occupies extremely low core area, and spread-spectrum PLLs for EMI suppression.
Commenting on this partnership Dave Steer, Director of IP Business Development at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, said, “Cosmic Circuits has been an active partner in the GLOBALSOLUTIONS ecosystem, and they have been enabling our customers in the 65LPe technology node with their solutions in audio, data converters and power management. Given their history in enabling customers in our process technology, and the successful relationship we have had over the past few years, they were a logical choice for foundation Analog IP development in these advanced technologies."
The Director of IP of Cosmic Circuits Sundararajan Krishnan commented that”We are very happy to enable our customers to achieve success with our various IP solutions as part of the GLOBALSOLUTIONS program, and are elated that we will be taking another step in that direction with this foundation IP development. We have a number of PLLs available for system clocking needs in the older process nodes, and with this development, we will be able to offer our customers with a comprehensive portfolio of PLL solutions to choose from."
