Silicon Hive Introduces Next Generation Scalable Solution for High-Performance Multi-Format Video Decoding
HiveGo VSS3240 delivers superb quality high-definition video experience for connected HDTV and internet video decoding applications
Eindhoven, The Netherlands – January 4, 2011 -- Silicon Hive B.V. (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) announced today the availability of HiveGo VSS3240, a complete video system solution IP product enabling Full HD 1080p multi-format video decoding for various standard and proprietary video coding formats up to 60fps and 62.5Mbps as used in connected HDTV, optical disks and Digital Media Adapters.
The VSS3240 advanced multi-core architecture offers unique scalability across video resolutions and frame rates, achieving highest performance levels of a variety of video coding standards as AVC/H.264 L4.2, VP6/8, AVS and RealVideo. The VSS3240 builds on the silicon proven VSS3000 that has been incorporated in Samsung Digital Media products. New architectural features facilitate a perfect high-definition video experience at 60fps and efficient support for new standards revisions and applications such as 3D, MVC, and SVC standards.
Silicon proven HiveGo VSS solution provides seamless integration (drop-in) into existing SoC designs due to its extreme high tolerance to system bus latencies. The solution combines extensive buffering and caching capabilities with complete software-based control of system bus accesses. "The fully programmable parallel processing HiveGo VSS 3240 platform enables rapid introduction of new formats, features and applications at very high performance points. HDTV chips and set makers can therefore rapidly create and deploy compelling consumer video experiences" said Dr. Geoff Burns, VP Product Management of Silicon Hive.
VSS3240 can be complemented with extensive video post processing functions as Scaling, Frame Rate Conversion and real time 2D to 3D conversion. The HiveGo VSS3240 Video System Solution is supported by Silicon Hive's HiveCC Software Development Kit. It is available for licensing now. Silicon Hive will demonstrate select HiveGo VSS video decoding and post processing capabilities at CES2011, January 6-9, 2011.
