Alcatel OT-980 Android Phone Integrates AuthenTec DRM Solution
New Smartphone from TCL Communication Leverages Multimedia Content Protection of AuthenTec’s DRM Fusion Agent for Android
MELBOURNE, Fla. -- February 10, 2011 – AuthenTec (NASDAQ: AUTH), a leading provider of security and identity management, today announced that TCL Communication has chosen AuthenTec’s DRM Fusion Agent for integration in its new Alcatel OT-980 Android smartphone. AuthenTec’s DRM Fusion Agent for Android helps ensure multimedia content protection and monetization opportunities for TCL Communication’s operator customers by ensuring seamless access and playback of protected content by OT-980 smartphone users.

The Alcatel OT-980 is an Android 2.1-based smartphone which combines a 2.8-inch touch screen with a QWERTY keypad for enhanced, touch-based functionality. The OT-980 is offered in Europe and Asia and gives users quick mobile access to a range of services including those available from Google including Gmail, Google Talk, and YouTube.
AuthenTec DRM Fusion Agent Client for Android supports OMA standards, as well as Windows Media and Microsoft PlayReady standards. It is available to mobile phone OEMs as a complete solution pre-integrated with popular platforms such as Android. AuthenTec also offers an end-to-end media security solution using the AuthenTec DRM Fusion Server for carriers and network service providers.
