2010 Significant Milestones and Accomplishments
- Over 75 new licensees have been added to Innopower customer base since the business transferring from Faraday in Dec. 2009
- Over 6 new 65/55nm platform IP solutions have been created since Dec. 2009 The IP are in mass production in more than six 65/55nm foundry processes.
- Strong business growth with overall license IP revenues increasing by 70%, especially in connectivity IP
- USB 3.0 PHY IP shipping in volume production in customer’s PC host adaptor card and flash storage drives.
“It was a year of great advancement for Innopower. We have experienced strong business growth and achieved record number of new licensees in 2010. Also, over 6 new 65/55nm platform IPs were created and in mass production. Furthermore, the industry leading USB 3.0 IP, with it shipping in volume production, was notable,” said Hsin Wang, President of Innopower. “In addition to the accomplishments above, the most significant business progress was the partnership established with the leading foundries. This will strengthen the relationship and bring more value to our customers. During 2010 many customers highlighted Innopower's innovative and diverse IP solutions. We will continue to work on achieving our development objectives in 2011."
Over 75 new licensees have been added to Innopower customer base since the business transferring from Faraday in Dec. 2009
With a more flexible business model, Innopower successfully added 75 new licensees to its customer base in 2010 making the total number of customers to more than 870. The notable difference of the new licensees is that they are mostly related to 65/55nm process, which makes more synergies for Innopower to develop optimized IP for the customers. Furthermore, the increasing number of new licensees and the solid customer base will extend our leadership in competitiveness, comparing to the other IP vendors. We will continue to develop leading-edge IPs with differentiated features to offer more value to our customers.
Over 6 new 65/55nm platform IP solutions have been created since Dec. 2009.
The IP are now in mass production in more than six 65/55nm foundry processes. Innopower applies a lot of efforts to complete the IP solutions for each newly created process node. The expansion of the complete platform IP to include 65/55nm in various foundry processes is the key to meet the customer demand. With more than 6 newly created complete platform IP solutions, customers will be able to easily design and manufacture their products to achieve fast time-to-market advantage. The complete platform IP in each process node includes featured-rich cell libraries, memory compilers, and popular interface IPs such as DDR2/3, mDDR, and USB IP. The IPs were designed to meet the customer needs in both low power and high performance for applications that range from portable media players (PMP), High definition Media Players (HD Player), to the emerging IP set-top-box (IP-STB).
Strong business growth with overall license-IP revenues increasing by 70%, especially in connectivity IP
Innopower experienced strong growth in 2010 with an approximately 70% growth of license-IP business compared to the same period in 2009. Most of the business growth comes from connectivity IPs such as USB, DDR, Serial ATA, and Ethernet IP. With solid track records in Connectivity IP, Innopower is positioned well to support customers in the emerging media-intensive devices market.

Innopower provides the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 IP, including the device controller and PHY IP, for the USB 3.0 application developers. The IPs are designed with optimized features to support customer needs; enabling rich features and cost benefits in the end products. The IPs have been integrated in applications such as PC host controller, flash storage drives, multimedia interface bridge, and hub controller. Now the customer’s design in PC host adaptor and flash storage drives are in high volume production.
“Innopower is committed to offering competitive IP solutions and support customers with diverse foundry and process requirements,” said Meisie Jong, VP of Sales and Marketing at Innopower. “Our objective in 2011 will be accelerating the adoption of our digital IP solution. By coupling with our analog/physical IPs, customers can experience extremely quick SoC implementation and attain volume production very expeditiously. We expect to support our customers with complete solutions, in conjunction with very competitive business model and help them to succeed.”
