Cosmic's Linear Regulator IP in mass production with Innofidei Chip-set
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Cosmic Circuits (May 23, 2013)
Chinese based IC and system solutions provider licenses Analog IP from Cosmic Circuits
Bangalore, INDIA and Campbell, California, 21th April 2011:- Cosmic Circuits, a leading provider of Analog and Mixed-Signal IP cores, today announced that Innofidei Inc., a Chinese based IC and system solutions provider has realized mass production success on their chipset by licensing the Linear Regulator IP from Cosmic Circuits.
The Linear Regulator IP is implemented in 65nm CMOS from TSMC, and the low die size and quiescent current helped in overall reduction of BOM costs and extending battery life of the SoC. Innofidei Inc. has leveraged Cosmic’ s ability to customize and support effectively, while benefiting from the certainty that Cosmic’ s silicon-validated analog IP brings to System-on-Chip development. As a company offering a broad portfolio of nanometer Analog IP cores covering Data-Converters, Analog-Front-End platforms for Wireless and Audio, Power-Management, Clocking and low-power Connectivity, Cosmic makes it possible for system-on-chip design companies to source a variety of differentiated analog IP.
Commenting on this partnership, Wei Qian, Director of IC Development, Innofidei Inc. said “We selected Cosmic Circuits as we trusted the ability of their engineering team to deliver a quality IP core with a short turn-around time and were very pleased that Cosmic delivered on both counts. Cosmic’ s engineering team was always available to respond to technical questions, and the excellent support ensured that the integration was hassle free.”
Sundararajan Krishnan, Director of IP of Cosmic Circuits, commented that “Innofidei needed a quick turn-around on the linear regulator IP, and we are glad that we could rise to the occasion and provide them the solution they needed. This project is the latest addition to our long list of success stories in the power-management space”
