SAN FRANCISCO—Preliminary estimates indicate that shareholders of EDA vendor Mentor Graphics Corp. elected three men nominated by billionaire financier Carl Icahn to serve on the company's board of directors, Mentor said Thursday (May 12).
Icahn's nominees— Federal-Mogul Corp. President and CEO Jose Maria Alapont, former Synplicity Inc. CEO Gary Meyers and David Schechter, a senior investment analyst at Icahn Management LP, will join Mentor's five continuing directors—including Mentor Chairman and CEO Walden Rhines and Mentor President Gregory Hinckley, Mentor said. The results are based on preliminary estimates provided by Mentor's proxy solicitor, the company said, with official results expected in about a week.
