EVE Integrates ZeBu with ARM VSTREAM Virtual Debug Interface
Links ZeBu Fast Emulators with ARM Software Debuggers to Improve Embedded Software Debug
SAN JOSE, CALIF. –– May 18, 2011 –– EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, announced today it has integrated its best-in-class ZeBu hardware-assisted verification solution with the fast and flexible ARM® VSTREAM™ Virtual Debug Interface.
The integration of the VSTREAM transactor with the EVE ZEMI-3 transactor compiler that now links ZeBu emulated system-on-chip (SoC) designs with a variety of software debuggers improves embedded software debug for ARM processor-based devices. This integration eliminates the need for physical JTAG pod connections.
The VSTREAM interface implements a transaction-based connection to the debug port of the processor, implemented as register transfer level (RTL), for software debuggers to provide a responsive graphical debug environment (IDE) for ARM processor-based SoCs executing in ZeBu. VSTREAM is fully compatible with all the synthesized transactors from the EVE solutions portfolio to build hardware/software SoC system validation platforms on ZeBu.
“The VSTREAM Virtual Debug Interface is a key tool for software-hardware integration and co-debug, enabling a fully functional and responsive software debug environment for processors running in emulation,” said Javier Orensanz, product manager for Debug and Profiling Tools, ARM. “ARM welcomes the collaboration with EVE, which has enabled ZeBu users to take full advantage of the capabilities of VSTREAM.”
EVE also announced today it has expanded the ZeBu hardware-assisted verification family of transactors to include a set of new vertical solutions for latest protocol standards, including PCI Express, Ethernet and HDMI synthesized transactors. (See news release dated May 18, 2011 titled, “EVE Expands ZeBu Line with New Vertical Solutions.”)
EVE will offer demonstrations of the ZeBu hardware-assisted verification family in Booth #2836, South Hall at the 48th Design Automation Conference (DAC) June 6-8 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.
