IAR Systems Collaborates with HOLT Integrated Circuits for the MIL-STD-1553 Application Development Kits using ARM Cortex-M3
Foster City, CA—September 22, 2011—IAR Systems® today announced its collaboration with HOLT Integrated Circuits for their MIL-STD-1553 application development kit, HI-6130. HOLT Integrated Circuits is a major supplier of ICs for avionics and military data bus and display applications. The company’s products are specified by more than 400 manufacturers worldwide and are employed in flight control, navigation, engine management, communications, safety equipment, and in-flight entertainment systems. IAR Embedded Workbench® for ARM® C/C++ IDE was selected as their ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller development environment. The kit demonstrates concurrent operation for any combination of Bus Controller, Bus Monitor and one or two Remote Terminals. The hardware includes a 2-board assembly, an HI-6130 board with dual transformer-coupled MIL-STD-1553 bus interfaces and a lower microprocessor board with ARM Cortex-M3 16/32-bit microprocessor, debug interface and regulated 3.3VDC power supply.
The kit provides the user with an out-of-the-box evaluation platform and includes a complete software reference design demonstrating many common MIL-STD-1553 BC, MT and RT application examples. The source code may be easily customized using IAR Systems software suite, significantly reducing software development time.
“We are very pleased to be working with Holt on their new ARM Cortex-M3 HI-6130 application development kits,” said Robert DeOliveira, Sr. Sales Manager at IAR Systems. “By selecting IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, developers will see the benefits of the highly optimized development tools and debuggers when working with Avionic applications on the HOLT platform.”
“Holt Integrated Circuits is delighted to use IAR Systems development tools in our evaluation kits,” said Anthony Murray, Director of Business Development at Holt. “These tools provide our customers with an easy-to-use interface to Holt’s hardware and a solid platform for software development.”
IAR Embedded Workbench provides a completely integrated development environment including a project manager, editor, build tools and debugger. In a continuous workflow, you can create source files and projects, build applications and debug them in a simulator or on hardware.
