Chipworks Partners With Elysium Digital LLC
Chipworks Expands Its Ability to Provide Software Related Patent and Evidence of Use Analysis
OTTAWA, Oct 17, 2011 -- Chipworks today announced a partnership with Elysium Digital, LLC at the Licensing Executive Society (LES) annual general meeting in San Diego. This partnership is one example of how Chipworks is "thinking outside the chip" -- complementing its semiconductor expertise to support systems and software patent licensing. It also expands Chipworks' existing capabilities relating to software analysis and software reverse engineering.
"The landscape of high tech patent licensing is growing in complexity as a result of technology advancements, convergence, and greater competition," said Julia Elvidge, Chipworks President. "Often, when multiple systems elements are involved, clients come to us because we can select and combine the optimal investigation techniques, from chip analysis through board analysis and functional analysis to software reverse engineering. Our partnership with Elysium helps us meet this need by extending our ability to assist more clients requiring software related patent analysis and evidence of use documentation."
"Chipworks' ability to support semiconductor and electronic systems patents is a competitive advantage, especially given the level of licensing and litigation activity we are currently witnessing in the high tech arena," said Christian Hicks, President of Elysium Digital. "Working collaboratively with Chipworks will enable us to offer semiconductor analysis and expand our reach to new clients."
During the LES annual meeting, Chipworks (booth #115) will also be moderating a panel on trends in mobile communications licensing, along with senior executives from RIM, Rockstar, LG, and Dickstein Shapiro.
