Mitsubishi Corporation Licenses InterTrust Rights|System
SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- InterTrust Technologies Corporation , the leading provider of patented trusted computing technology, and Mitsubishi Corporation today announced that Mitsubishi has licensed InterTrust Rights|System(TM) products for use in Video on Demand (VOD) applications in Japan. Mitsubishi Corporation is a long-term InterTrust core partner providing InterTrust DRM-based offerings to the Japanese market. Mitsubishi's adoption of Rights|System reflects Mitsubishi's continued support for its business and technology relationship with InterTrust.
As part of the new arrangement, Mitsubishi has purchased a new product license to InterTrust Rights|System server products, and to packaging and rendering technologies for PC-based digital video DRM. This includes InterTrust's Rights|Video(TM) client components that are capable of protecting and managing advanced open media formats, such as MPEG-4.

Built from InterTrust's broad body of inventive work in trusted computing, Rights|System platform supports a variety of client types across devices with a single data-center architecture. In addition to PC environments, Rights|System clients are available for mobile platforms, consumer electronics and set top box and PVR/DVR environments. Rights|System supports a variety of rendering formats, including MPEG-4, mp3 and mp3pro, and can be readily implemented for DSL, satellite and cable based VOD systems.
