Cosmic Circuits' MIPI Alliance M-PHY-DigRFv4 licensed by multiple customers
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Cosmic Circuits (May 23, 2013)
Bangalore, INDIA and Campbell, California, 13th December, 2011:-Cosmic Circuits, a leading provider of differentiated Analog and Mixed-Signal IP cores, today announced that its M-PHY-DigRF v4 solution has been licensed by multiple customers in Asia.
Cosmic Circuits offers a broad portfolio of differentiated Analog IP cores in nanometer technology nodes covering Data-Converters, Analog-Front-End platforms for Wireless and Audio, Power-Management, Clocking and MIPI Interfaces.
Cosmic Circuits DigRF v4 solution integrates an M-PHY that supports both the HS-G1 (1.5Gbps) and HS-G2 (3Gbps) modes along with the DigRF v4 controller. The solution includes the master controller for integration in the baseband modem SoC and the slave controller for integration in the RFIC. Cosmic Circuits has licensed both the master and the slave controller to its customers. Given its anticipated wide-spread usage and the need for multiple configurations, the implementation has been kept modular. The transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) blocks are modularized while the bandgap, PLL and regulators are integrated into a common block. Such a modular approach enables rapid customization for any configuration.
“We are pleased to see the continued success of MIPI’s M-PHY and DigRF specifications,” said Joel Huloux, Chairman of the Board of MIPI Alliance. “Asia is a key growth market for wireless devices and MIPI specifications, and we wish Cosmic Circuits continued success.”
The Director of IP of Cosmic Circuits, Sundararajan Krishnan, commented that “We are very happy that our MIPI DPHY and MPHY solutions are getting integrated into the SoCs of leading fabless companies around the world. With the controllers now included as part of our offering, we provide our customers with a complete solution. We have an exhaustive portfolio across applications and process technologies, and are starting to see significant increase in the adoption of our solutions. Application boards with the Cosmic Circuits MPHY test-chip and the controller on FPGA are available upon request to select customers.”
