Intrinsix Joins Virage Logic Memory Alliance Program
Westboro, MA, USA, April 8, 2002 - Intrinsix Corp., the largest independent ASIC and System (SoC) design company, today announced that it has joined the Virage Logic Corp. (Nasdaq: VIRL)Memory Alliance Program (MAP). Through this program Intrinsix becomes a certified design center and will be provided early access to Virage Logic memory technologies.
"Today there are many more companies requiring complete SoC solutions in order to quickly architect, design and verify complex devices," stated Josh Schissler VP of Business Development at Intrinsix "we have a long and successful history in each of these engineering disciplines. The knowledge and access to Virage Logic memory technology furthers our ability to bring superior SoC solutions to our clients."
Virage Logic embedded memories span the requirements of most SoC applications, from ultra low voltage, low power digital hearing aids to very high performance Internet routing and search engines. The STAR Memory System features multi-megabits of embedded memory coupled to a small embedded self-test and repair processor. This strategy insures exceptionally high memory yields and obviates the need for a variety of expensive production equipment. The new NOVeA non-volatile embedded memory enables designers to include reprogrammable NVM in their SoC designs. The NOVeA NVM is produced in a standard logic process. The widely used ASAP embedded memories are optimized for area, speed and power.
"Intrinsix is a key player in the development of next-generation convergence platforms," said Vincent Ratford, Virage Logic's vice president of marketing and business development. "Our families of embedded memories are critical components in the SoC applications that Intrinsix focuses on such as wireless media products, set top boxes, networking, cell phones and more. We are pleased to welcome Intrinsix to the synergistic Memory Alliance Partnership."
About Intrinsix
Intrinsix Corp. is the largest independent Electronic Product Design Outsourcing company. With highly experienced engineers and teams, Intrinsix architects, designs and verifies hardware and software for complex electronic systems. These systems are most often System on Chip (SoC) designs in networking, wireless and digital media applications. As a result of the demanding feature and time-to-market characteristics of these applications, Intrinsix rapidly delivers its SoC hardware and deeply embedded software to customers by using state of the art co-design and co-verification techniques. Intrinsix provides these services to leading electronics and defense companies that have devices produced by semiconductor vendors such as Texas Instruments (TXN), IBM (IBM), Agere (AGRA), LSI Logic (LSI), Philips/VLSI (PHG), and Infineon(IFX), among others. Intrinsix also utilizes industry standard tools from companies such as Synopsys (SNPS), Mentor Graphics (MENT), Verisity (VRST), and Cadence (CDN), among others.
