Transeda announces the formation of japanese subsidiary, Nihon TransEDA K.K.
YOKOHAMA, JAPAN – April 8, 2002 – TransEDA, the leader in ready-to-use verification solutions for electronic designs, today announced the further expansion of its presence in the Japanese market through the formation of Nihon TransEDA K.K. The wholly owned subsidiary of TransEDA PLC will provide sales, support, and customer liaison for Japanese customers. Yasuo Kanehira, former senior technical manager of TransEDA's Japan support office, will lead the Yokohama-based operation onsite as representative director.
"Japan is an important market for TransEDA with a solid and growing base of loyal customers," said Ellis Smith, chief executive officer of TransEDA PLC. "By establishing Nihon TransEDA K.K., we can better meet the needs of our Japanese customers. The Japanese market is one of the fastest growing areas for our products, and this new subsidiary will enable us to better provide the tools and services our customers here require."
Nihon TransEDA K.K. will be staffed by a team of locally recruited sales, marketing, and technical professionals. Ellis Smith is president of the subsidiary, and Gus Orchard, TransEDA CFO, is director and secretary. Tetsuro Shibuya will serve as sales manager for Nihon TransEDA K.K. The company's Japanese distributor, KeyBridge, Inc., will continue to work with TransEDA as an independent sales representative.
