IPextreme Taps IP Leaders for Constellations
Stars of Semiconductor IP Brought Together for Collaboration
Campbell, Calif. – April 24, 2012 – IPextreme, Inc., the company bringing famous IP (intellectual property) to system-on-chip designers worldwide, today announced a major advance of its Constellations initiative to bring together like-minded semiconductor IP companies to develop and promote advanced IP solutions.
Constellations is a collective of independent IP companies collaborating at both the marketing and engineering levels. Companies participating in Constellations offer complementary products; membership is open only to non-competing companies to encourage teamwork. Within Constellations, companies work together and share resources to promote mutual success.
Constellations member companies currently include Analog Bits, Certus Semiconductor, Northwest Logic, Sonics, Inc., and IPextreme itself. Enrollment is open to new companies at any time, provided that a competitor has not previously secured a place in the program.
Products are featured on IPextreme’s Xena™ IP management system. Member companies are given a private area on the Xena cloud with full access to all capabilities of Xena, including: cataloging, product management, and customer support. Xena also provides a convenient method for member companies and their customers to recommend IP products from other member companies to colleagues and other customers. Visitors may go to https://xena.ip-extreme.com to view the available products from each of the member companies.
Constellations holds member events throughout the year and facilitates joint participation at trade shows around the world. Increased press exposure and media coverage are added bonuses as companies collaborate on projects and promote one another through their own channels, in turn.
“IP companies increasingly need to partner with other companies in the supply chain to provide effective solutions to customers,” said Warren Savage, President & CEO, IPextreme. “With Constellations, we bring together the best-of-breed IP companies to demonstrate to the industry what can be accomplished by working in tandem.”
What Constellations Members are Saying
Sonics, Inc. “Constellations offers customers the leverage of a larger ‘virtual company’ and, overall, a more comprehensive IP solution,” said Jack Browne, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Sonics. “Reaching customers at the right time with a broad portfolio of interoperable IP means quicker time to first system for the SoC designer, while enabling the continuing proliferation of subsytems to improve design productivity.” Certus Semiconductor “The semiconductor industry is becoming so diverse and specialized that customers looking for IP increasingly need multiple suppliers for their product designs. Constellations makes finding those suppliers much easier,” said Stephen Fairbanks, Co-Director, Certus Semiconductor. “Finding and creating high quality customer relationships is best achieved by associating with high quality organizations, and Constellations is one of them. The people we meet and work with in Constellations have been a stellar group of individuals; it really has provided an ecosystem of development and expertise that benefits all its members.” Analog Bits "With our differentiated and precision SerDes, PLLs, and high density memory playing such a critical role in today's SoC designs, a unique collective such as Constellations provides designers with robust information when and where they need it," said Mahesh Tirupattur, Executive Vice President, Analog Bits. "Constellations is a strategic part of Analog Bits' global customer outreach." Northwest Logic “Northwest Logic is excited to work with IPextreme and the other Constellations partners to provide complete, cutting edge IP solutions to our customers,” said Brian Daellenbach, President, Northwest Logic. “Northwest Logic already has a close working relationship with several of the Constellations partners. This alliance will help us broaden our relationships with market-leading IP providers and bring more complete solutions to our customers.”
