Tality to provide IP to Mindspeed for building leading edge networking solutions
Tality 10 Gigabit Ethernet MAC Key to MAN Solution
San Jose, CA. – April 22, 2002 – Tality Corporation today announced Mindspeed Technologies™, the Internet infrastructure business of Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXT), has licensed its 10 Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC) IP. It will be used throughout Mindspeed as the basis for their next-generation 10 Gigabit systems. Industry experts Gartner, Inc. expect Ethernet to become the dominant Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) technology, approaching $50 billion worldwide by 2005.

Tality has a broad portfolio of foundry independent Ethernet IP available for both Layer 1 (PHY) and Layer 2 (MAC) including:
- MAC (10/100, Gigabit and 10 Gigabit)
- PHY and SerDes (DSP based 10/100 Ethernet PHY, 1.25Gb/s SerDes, 3.125Gb/s SerDes for XAUI with PCS functionality)
- VxWorks Software Drivers for the 10/100 MAC and Gigabit MAC
The Tality roadmap includes development of a 10 Gigabit SerDes as well as a range of PCS cores aimed at 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications. In addition, Tality is a participating member of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance and a voting member of the IEEE 802.3ae (10G) and 802.3ah (Ethernet First Mile) Working Groups.
