New MIPS-Based Android 4.0 Tablet Coming Soon to India, Latin America and Europe
Actions Semiconductor Leverages MIPS32® 74Kf™ CPU Core in SoC for New Tablet
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - July 9, 2012-MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACTS), one of China's leading fabless semiconductor companies that provides comprehensive portable multimedia and mobile internet system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions for portable consumer electronics, announced the imminent market entrance of a new Android 4.0 'Ice Cream Sandwich' tablet leveraging a MIPS-Based™ SoC from Actions.
The new miumiu W1 tablet from China-based tablet manufacturer Ramos is expected to be available this summer in markets such as India, Latin America and Europe. Ramos' miumiu W1 tablet features a high resolution 7" WSVGA (1024×600) capacitive multi-touch screen. It is powered by a high-performance ATM7019 SoC from Actions, which incorporates a superscalar MIPS32® 74Kf™ core running at 1GHz. Ramos' miumiu W1 tablet will be available in 4GB and 8GB versions.

Ramos' miumiu W1 tablet features 512MB DDR3 RAM, support for Wifi 802.11b/g/n, USB 2.0 high-speed 5-pin Micro USB interface, 4/8GB storage with support for up to 32GB external storage, microSD slot, support for 1080p HD video and most popular audio/video formats, 640x480 front camera, video recording with 640x480 resolution, support for USB keyboard/mouse and more.
In addition to support for Android 4.0, the high-performance ATM7019 CPU in Ramos' miumiu W1 tablet incorporates an OpenGL ES 2.0 3D graphics processing unit, HDMI 1.3, support for multi-format high-definition 1080p video encoding and decoding, and other advanced functionality.
Availability
Ramos' miumiu W1 tablet is expected to be available in Q3 2012. Sales channels and pricing will be announced at a later date.
