Samsung Selects AuthenTec's VPN Security to Enhance Enterprise Security in New Android Smartphones & Tablets
MELBOURNE, Fla., July 16, 2012 - AuthenTec (NASDAQ:AUTH), a leading provider of mobile and network, today announced that Samsung has chosen its QuickSec™ VPN security for use in new Android smartphone and tablet models. AuthenTec's QuickSec Mobile VPN Client for Android enhances secure communication through an Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) based VPN client which is integrated in Samsung smartphones and tablets. The integration of AuthenTec’s VPN client means that Samsung Galaxy users now have built-in security and can more easily and safely connect to enterprise networks to access resources without sacrificing mobility.
AuthenTec’s QuickSec Mobile VPN Client for Android continues to gain traction and broad acceptance in the market. QuickSec VPN enhances the security of multiple new Android smartphones and tablets, providing users peace of mind that they can quickly and securely connect to their networks and the cloud.
The need for VPN security that allows smartphone and tablet users to easily and securely connect to enterprise networks continues to grow. In fact, according to Cisco, by the end of 2012 the number of mobile-connected devices will exceed the number of people on Earth. Samsung smartphones and tablets equipped with AuthenTec’s VPN Client for Android are ready to connect to enterprise networks the moment they are unboxed, eliminating the need for IT administrators to install a separate VPN application.
AuthenTec‘s Mobile VPN Client for Android is a complete Mobile VPN solution tailored specifically for Android phones and tablets, and is based on AuthenTec’s widely deployed QuickSec technology. This VPN client solution has been thoroughly tested and proven for interoperability with all major VPN gateways and comes with an easily customizable user interface. QuickSec VPN Client for Android is robust enough for enterprise VPN access but as straightforward for phone and tablet users as entering a password or PIN. Some of the key features include complete IPsec, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and above, IPv6, IKEv2 with MOBIKE, Xauth, EAP-based authentication, and split tunneling support.
AuthenTec offers complete mobile and network security solutions for handset makers, mobile operators, and rich content providers, including fingerprint sensor hardware, identity management software and embedded security.
