Mentor Graphics and Teledyne LeCroy Collaborate to Deliver New Emulation Verification Platform for SuperSpeed USB Applications
WILSONVILLE, Ore.--October 1, 2012-- Mentor Graphics Corp. (MENT), a leader in advanced system verification solutions, today announced a collaboration with Teledyne LeCroy, the worldwide leader in protocol test solutions, to deliver a new emulation platform for the verification of SuperSpeed Universal Serial Bus (USB) protocol Systems-on-Chip (SoCs).
The combination of the Mentor® Veloce®2 hardware emulation technology and iSolveTM applications with Teledyne LeCroy’s Voyager M3i series SuperSpeed USB test solutions delivers a high-performance and productive environment for handling the verification of multiple SuperSpeed USB ports associated with today’s most challenging SoC designs. The goal of both companies is to help bring complex SuperSpeed USB-based SoC products to market on schedule, without compromising verification accuracy or performance.
SuperSpeed USB is a widely adopted standard for connecting a variety of consumer, networking, mobile devices and PC peripherals, and delivers a fast, low-cost, and hot-pluggable serial interface to end users. This growing availability of SuperSpeed devices is increasing the amount of testing required by development teams.
“As a market leader in SuperSpeed USB test equipment, Teledyne LeCroy is committed to providing SoC designers with comprehensive tools to develop and verify their products,” said Michael Romm, vice-president of product development at Teledyne LeCroy’s Protocol Solutions Group. “Mentor’s Veloce2 family of advanced hardware-assisted verification solutions complements our Voyager M3i SuperSpeed USB test systems to deliver a state-of-the-art pre-silicon test solution for SuperSpeed USB host controllers, hub designs, and peripheral devices. One of our key customers, a world leader in networking, storage, and mobile computing systems, can now perform rigorous testing of their latest SoCs on this integrated, high-performance verification platform.”
The Veloce2 emulator is a high-performance, dual-mode accelerator/emulator, delivering twice the performance and capacity of previous generations for both transaction-based verification and traditional in-circuit emulation (ICE). With an extensive portfolio of iSolve vertical market solutions, the Veloce product is the platform of choice for networking, wireless, multimedia, storage, and embedded systems applications.
“We have worked closely with Teledyne LeCroy over several years to produce market-leading USB solutions for emulation users, and the new Veloce-Voyager M3i SuperSpeed USB platform extends our ability to deliver the industry’s premier emulation solutions for USB applications,” said Eric Selosse, Mentor Emulation Division (MED) vice president and general manager. “Our combined industry-leading technologies deliver reliable and easy-to-use SuperSpeed USB verification solutions that help customers to innovate and meet their time-to-market pressures for their SoC designs. By teaming with Teledyne LeCroy, we continue to improve our USB customer solutions for use with Veloce.”
