AnaCatum Appoints Analog Semiconductor IP Veteran Didier Lacroix as CEO
20-Year Industry Executive Joins Team to Pursue IP Licensing for Groundbreaking Analog Converters and Porting Technologies
Linkoping, Sweden and Campbell, California -- October 15, 2012 -- AnaCatum Design AB, a leading Analog semiconductor Intellectual Property (IP) Company, announced the appointment of Didier Lacroix as its new CEO. Lacroix, a veteran of the semiconductor and MEMS (Micro Elecro Mechanical Systems) industry, leads AnaCatum into a new phase of growth by now focusing on the licensing of its groundbreaking Analog Cores employing its two proprietary technologies: A2DFraming™ (Analog Converter Architectures) and Port-A-Tech™ (Analog Porting Technologies).
With several patents filed, AnaCatum’s technologies tackle the two biggest challenges facing semiconductor companies integrating advanced Analog Cores in smaller semiconductor process geometries: Scaling down the Analog Cores size and power, and Shortening the time needed to migrate Analog Cores to a new process node or silicon manufacturer. The company has now several of its customers shipping advanced consumer products embedding AnaCatum’s technologies. AnaCatum is backed by Conor Venture Partners, a venture capital investor in early-stage technology companies.
“We are excited to bring an experienced leader to join AnaCatum Design AB at this critical juncture,” said Dr. Rolf Sundblad, Managing Director, CTO and Co-Founder of AnaCatum. “Didier has the extensive IP licensing background that we were seeking as the company transitions to a licensing model to accelerate adoption of its Analog Cores and enabling technologies”.
“I am very impressed by the AnaCatum team, its deep experience delivering several generations of complex Analog Integrated Circuits, as well as by the groundbreaking technologies they have perfected,” said Lacroix. “With increased market requirements to integrate more sensors, advanced RF, and growing bandwidth needs, AnaCatum’s Cores deliver substantial improvements compared to current commercial solutions.”
Lacroix comes to AnaCatum with over 20 years of public and private company senior executive experience, most recently as CEO of Silicon Clocks, acquired by Silicon Laboratories. Prior to Silicon Clocks, he was vice-president of worldwide sales for MoSys, then a technology leader for high-density embedded memory IP. Previously, he was senior vice-president of worldwide sales for Chipidea, a leading provider of analog and mixed-signal IP, acquired by MIPS Technologies. Before Chipidea, Lacroix was the CEO of Discera, and Vice-President and General Manager of MEMSCAP’s wireless business. He has also held management positions at Synopsys and Cadence.
Lacroix holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and a diplome d’ingénieur from the Ecole supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Electrotechnique et Electronique (ESIEE) in France.
