Third Quarter 2012 Highlights[1]:
- Year-over-year revenue increased 70.6% to NT$2,338 million (US$78.34million)

- Earnings per share of NT$0.80 for the quarter
Hsinchu, Taiwan –October,26 2012 – Faraday Technology Corporation (TSE: 3035), a leading fabless ASIC service and silicon IP provider, today announced its unconsolidated operating results for the quarter ended September 30, 2012. The third quarter revenue was NT$2,338 million, while net income and basic earnings per share came to NT$322 million and NT$0.80, respectively.
Contributed by the skyrocketing market demand in quarter three, the revenue of ASIC MP (mass production) is much higher than the original guidance, reaching another quarterly record-high result. Nevertheless, the relatively higher growth percentage of ASIC MP led to the decline of corporate margin, coming to 38%. In profit wise, the increase of RD expense is caused by advancing IP development schedule from quarter four to this quarter, driven by the more aggressive project planning in Communication sector.
Looking into the next quarter, despite of the high revenue base of quarter three, and the seasonal drop of some market sectors, the decline percentage is expected to be smaller than that of previous years, on account of the continuous and stable business contribution of major MP sector.
