Calypto Announces New President and CEO Sanjiv Kaul
February 04, 2013 -- Calypto® Design Systems, Inc., the leader in Electronic System Level (ESL) hardware design and Register Transfer Level (RTL) power optimization, today announced that Sanjiv Kaul has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Sanjiv brings a vast amount of experience and expertise to Calypto having held executive management and strategic marketing roles over the last 30 years including work at Synopsys, Frontline, Cadence/Valid Logic and Daisy.
“Calypto is in a very exciting juncture today and is in the strongest position in the history of the company,” said Sanjiv Kaul, President and CEO at Calypto. “It has just completed a very successful year where Calypto achieved strong growth, record deals and substantial cash in the bank. With our best bookings year ever it is clear that Calypto is the number one player in the ESL hardware design and RTL power optimization space. As SoCs get ever more complex, design teams across the world are adopting Calypto’s solutions to improve their design productivity. The merger of the original Calypto with the Catapult team from Mentor was the right strategic decision. The need for Calypto’s HLS and RTL Power optimization has never been stronger and will continue to accelerate.”
Sanjiv is passionate about finding fundamental changes in the market, knowing the right technology to answer to those changes, and then championing the technology along a successful adoption curve. While at Synopsys, Sanjiv was Sr. VP and GM for a number of high-profile products including Physical Compiler that enabled Synopsys to become the leader in the RTL synthesis to GDSII flow. He was also the Marketing Director for the launches and early market success for PrimeTime and Formality. Sanjiv is applauded for an approach to marketing and general management that is very realistic and results-oriented, building a solid franchise based on real value and customer satisfaction. After leaving Synopsys, Sanjiv was involved with several startups as Founder, Chairman, CEO, Investor and Board member.
