NXP HD Voice Processing Smartphone Software Now Available for Tensilica's HiFi Audio/Voice DSPs
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Tensilica (Apr 24, 2013)
SANTA CLARA, Calif. USA and Eindhoven, The Netherlands – February 14, 2013 –NXP Software and Tensilica, Inc. today announced that NXP Software’s LifeVibes VoiceExperience is now available and optimized for Tensilica’s HiFi Audio/Voice DSP family. LifeVibes VoiceExperience offers a rich set of proven voice enhancements for clear, natural calling. Tensilica’s HiFi DSP family is the most widely used licensable audio/voice DSP family, with support for over 100 proven audio/voice software packages. Over 50 companies have licensed Tensilica’s HiFi DSP family, and they’ve shipped over 200 million HiFi DSP cores in their smartphones, tablets, computers, digital televisions, home entertainment systems, and other devices.
“The Tensilica HiFi Audio/Voice DSP family combines an efficient, low-power architecture with robust and well-supported development tools,” stated Nicolas Sauvage, OEM business line director, NXP Software. “Combined with our LifeVibes VoiceExperience software, we offer a complete solution for leading OEMs who want to offer the highest quality voice enhancements for clear, natural calling.”
“A number of our licensees have asked for LifeVibes VoiceExperience support on HiFi because they’ve already designed HiFi into their products and need better voice enhancement support. We are excited to offer our mutual customers this optimized software package, as it is proven in over 750 million handsets and tablets,” stated Larry Przywara, Tensilica’s senior director of mobile multimedia. “By fully optimizing it for our HiFi architecture, designers can be assured of the lowest power, most efficient, yet premium voice experience.”
LifeVibes VoiceExperience is HD Voice compliant, and enables natural, comfortable communication over phone networks and IP-based channels such as Skype and Google Talk. It improves the intelligibility of speech, eliminates echoes and distortion, and minimizes stationary and non-stationary background noise (such as traffic or crowds), using one or more microphones.
