Michael Noonen Appointed New Chair of Socle Technology to Expand Advanced Market
Mars 28, 2013 -- Socle Technology Corporation today announced with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Michael Noonen, executive vice president of global sales and marketing at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, to serve as the company's new chairperson. Noonen's appointment will elevate the level of Socle's cooperation with GLOBALFOUNDRIES and help the company to expand the market of advanced nodes and provide customers with more competitive products and services.
Michael Noonen, executive vice president of global sales and marketing at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, is responsible for GLOBALFOUNDRIES' global customer relationships as well as all marketing, sales, customer engineering and quality functions. He has extensive leadership with experience of over 25 years of high technology product management, sales and marketing. He worked with Cisco, National Semiconductor, and NXP Semiconductors before joining GLOBALFOUNDRIES. He successfully led NXP to 11 consecutive quarters of growth, a $5 billion business and its IPO.
"Facing the rising market of advanced mobile and smart devices, Socle will expand 28nm and beyond markets to provide customers with more customized ASIC service," according to Noonen, "Socle will remain focused on high performance and low power SoC. The company's outstanding design service and full support from GLOBALFOUNDRIES will enable a faster time to market and more competitive products and services."
Design complexity at advanced nodes needs more sophisticated cooperation between design houses and the foundry. With GLOBALFOUNDRIES' support, Socle is now one of the few leading design houses that already provide advanced 28nm ASIC design service. Socle's technology for mobile and smart devices has helped customers win more business opportunities. The company's chairperson has been the executive representative from GLOBALFOUNDRIES, the major shareholder of Socle.
