Elliptic Technologies Launches Hardware Enforced End-to-End Protection for Premium Content Sharing with its tVault DTCP+ Compliant Solutions
Update: Synopsys Expands Security Solutions with Acquisition of Elliptic Technologies (June 29, 2015)
Elliptic's tVault DTCP-IP solution complies with the latest standards and is built for ARM TrustZone and Trusted Execution Environments
April 17, 2013 – Ottawa, Canada -- Elliptic Technologies, a leading provider of field-proven embedded security and content protection solutions, today introduced tVault DTCP-IP, the latest addition to its family of highly robust and complete Digital Transmission Content Protection over Internet Protocol (DTCP-IP) security solutions targeted at protecting the streaming and sharing of premium content between smartphones, tablets, smart TVs and other connected devices. The tVault DTCP-IP integrates seamlessly with trusted execution environments and ARM® TrustZone® frameworks and supports DTCP+, the latest version of the specification that allows consumers to enjoy access to premium content not only at home, but also outside the home.
"DTCP+ is an important enhancement to the DTCP-IP technology as it enables consumers to view, stream and transfer protected content across multiple wired and wireless devices outside the home, including in-vehicle entertainment systems", said Vijay Dube, President and CEO of Elliptic Technologies. "Elliptic once again leads the industry in offering its hardware enforced tVault DTCP-IP solution that complies with the latest standards and is built for ARM TrustZone and Trusted Execution Environments to provide highly robust end-to-end content protection solutions for connected media devices."
Elliptic's tVault DTCP-IP provides the advanced security technology required by the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) to protect high-value digital content and is implemented in accordance with the DTCP revision 1.7 and DTCP-IP revision 1.4 specifications. The tVault DTCP-IP supports all four layers of protection: copy control information, device authentication and key exchange, content encryption and system renewability. As part of the DTCP+ capabilities, the solution also supports new Content Management Information (CMI) features, Digital Only Token (DOT), Copy Count (CC) encoded content, Protected Content Packet (PCP) version 2 and remote access. The tVault DTCP-IP integrates seamlessly on Android platforms and is delivered with sample Java-based transmitter, receiver and key management applications with JNI abstraction layer to the SDK.
Elliptic Technologies provides a comprehensive portfolio of end-to-end Digital Rights Management (DRM) and content protection solutions including, HDCP 2.2 and DTCP-IP, which are meant to protect audiovisual premium content against unauthorized copying, interception and tampering, while ensuring that the content can be viewed, recorded or streamed on home networked devices or in-vehicle entertainment systems. Elliptic's software and hardware security solutions have been delivered to leading device manufacturers, chipset vendors and service providers around the world, enabling a short time to market and allowing for the safe view and distribution of high-value digital content to consumer electronics.
About DTCP-IP
DTCP-IP is a technical standard specified and licensed by the Digital Transmission Licensing Administrator (DTLA) that protects audiovisual content, when transmitted between digital entertainment products, against unauthorized copying, interception and tampering, while ensuring that content can be viewed and copied on home networked devices. DTCP-IP is regarded as essential to Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) content protection standards which set guidelines for the interconnection over a home network of digital audiovisual devices and PCs made by different vendors for the easy sharing of video, music, photos and other digital content.
