Rambus Appoints Industry-Veteran Steve Tobak as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing
LOS ALTOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 2002--Rambus Inc., world's leading developer of chip-to-chip interface technology, today announced the appointment of Steve Tobak as senior vice president of worldwide marketing. With 22 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Tobak brings extensive marketing, sales, product development and executive management experience to Rambus.
As the company's senior marketing executive, Tobak will have direct responsibility for worldwide corporate marketing, as well as dotted line responsibility for product marketing of the company's three product divisions. Mr. Tobak will primarily be tasked with expanding the market for Rambus' industry-leading interface technology and building equity in the corporate brand.

Tobak has held top marketing and sales roles at a number of semiconductor companies, including Tessera, as senior vice president, marketing and sales; National Semiconductor, as vice president of corporate marketing and communications; and Cyrix, as vice president of corporate and channel marketing. He also served in various executive and management roles at OPTi, Stac Electronics, NEC Electronics and Texas Instruments.
Tobak most recently served as CEO at InLight Communications, an early stage optical networking component company. Tobak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
