New Microcontroller Integrates Measurement And Communication Capabilities
New ARM® Cortex M3®-based microcontroller combines highest-in-class on-chip SRAM memory capacity with multiple communication interfaces
Düsseldorf -- June 27, 2013 – Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has announced a new ARM® CortexTM M3® -based microcontroller that combines large capacity memory with a range of serial interfaces, integrating measurement and communication systems into a single chip. The TMPM36BF10FG comes equipped with 258 kByte of SRAM and 1 MByte of ROM.
TMPM36BF10FG is ideal for controlling complex systems that involve large software and data sets. Applications include energy management systems (EMS), motor control equipment, communication devices, monitors, printers, POS terminals and general industrial equipment.
Featuring an optimised circuit design, the new TX03 series microcontroller consumes just two thirds of the power of equivalent products despite its large memory capacity and wide range of function blocks. Mass production of the chip is scheduled to start in September.
The microcontroller is pin-compatible with TMPM36BFYFG, which will have a lower memory capacity and is scheduled to start mass production in November 2013. The controllers have been designed so that either one can be selected for use with a system, depending on the required memory capacity, without any re-design of the printed circuit board.
