National Chip Implementation Center Allied with NEC Corporation in High-Level Synthesis
Tokyo, 29 July, 2013 - NEC Corporation (“NEC”) and National Chip Implementation Center (“CIC”) announced partnership in High-Level Synthesis.
CyberWorkBench is a C-based design platform developed by NEC for over 2 decades. CyberWorkBench is developed around the “All-in-C” paradigm that allows high level synthesis and verification of any ANSI-C or SystemC program generating high quality RTL. This ground breaking technology is now available on CIC service items. “There are more and more requests for high level synthesis education in Taiwan”, said Tzi-Dar Chiueh, Director at CIC. “NEC is the pioneer in the field of high level synthesis. We are happy to cooperate with NEC to service academic and educational institutes in Taiwan”.
CIC assists academic education and research EDA needs. CIC has served more than 700 professors in Taiwan. Professors can offer ESL Classes with CyberWorkBench tool environment now. Students can run CyberWorkBench in lab to exercise C-based LSI Design.
“CyberWorkBench is an innovative and mature technology”, said Kazutoshi Wakabayashi, Senior Expert, Embedded Integration Business Development at NEC. “It can generate designs ~15% smaller than hand coded RTL, create cycle-accurate simulation models ~100 times faster than RTL simulation, and reduce design cycle to one fourth.”
