Coherent Logix And Intrinsic-ID Announce Availability Of An Advanced Secure Processor Enabling Fully Software Reprogrammable Wireless and Video Solutions for Software Defined Systems
Eindhoven --August 12, 2013 -- Coherent Logix, Inc. and Intrinsic-ID have collaborated in the development of embedded security features in the latest HyperX™ Software Defined System processor from Coherent Logix. In the agreement, Coherent Logix licensed Intrinsic-ID’s Hardware Intrinsic Security™ (HIS) technology. This HIS technology is based on an innovative way to protect critical data in an integrated circuit by extracting the ‘electronic fingerprint’ of the chip.
"Software Defined Systems (SDS) that can do both wireless and video processing in software in the same system are the new trend as video continues to drive the wireless bandwidth explosion," said Manuel Uhm, Vice President of Marketing for Coherent Logix. "The need for SDS includes both infrastructure and mobile devices, which need to work together to solve the problem of reducing latency while meeting the power and form factor restrictions. At the same time, security is a key requirement regardless of the end market. Since there are some different use cases in the military, public safety and commercial markets, this necessitates a flexible security solution. The combination of Coherent Logix’s high performance and low power HyperX processors with Intrinsic-ID’s security IP addresses all these use cases."
HIS technology addresses several fundamental challenges in embedded systems security such as secure boot, flexible key provisioning and management, and hardware/software binding. "We provide the most advanced method today in protecting a chip’s data, but we also provide ease-of-use and flexibility to address the broader system level and application requirements of Coherent Logix’s systems", says Pim Tuyls, CEO and founder of Intrinsic-ID. "We are excited to continue to work with Coherent Logix in its successful launch of the latest HyperX processor, and with their customers and partners to provide the most advanced security to their systems."
The hx3100 HyperX processor from Coherent Logix is available today, as well as the hxISDE development environment, and hxHADS application development platforms.
