M31 Announces MIPI M-PHY Passes TSMC IP Validation Center Program
Hsinchu, Taiwan – September 24th, 2013 – M31's MIPI M-PHY has completed IP system validation with TSMC's IP Validation Center Program. The TSMC IP Validation Center Program is an extension of TSMC9000, focusing on the auditing of IP designs via silicon test chips. The TSMC9000 library and IP quality management program consists of a set of minimum quality requirements for libraries and IP designed for TSMC process technologies. TSMC9000 benefits SoC designers by providing reference data on IP quality, enabling fast design reuse and safe integration into the overall design. M31 joined TSMC's IP Alliance Program as an incubator member in November 2012 after their interface IP completed TSMC9000 quality assessment.
TSMC validated M31's MIPI M-PHY IP with silicon test chips to meet the provided datasheet. The result allows SoC designers to concentrate on system development rather than spending overhead to verify IP. M31's MIPI M-PHY IP is the first IP of its type to complete the IP Validation Center Program.
"TSMC's IP Validation Center Program is an important mechanism to ensure successful IP integration. We are glad that our MIPI M-PHY IP has passed the validation of this program," said H.P. Lin, the Chairman of M31 Technology Corporation.
"It is clear that M31 sees the benefit in the TSMC9000 program and IP Validation," said Suk Lee, TSMC Senior Director, Design Infrastructure Marketing Division. "Our collaboration will help customers in their IP selection process."
Future plans call for M31 to work with TSMC to provide customers with a more complete MIPI solution: a bundled of MIPI M-PHY and UniPro controller.
