NEC Adopts Real Intent Automatic Verification to Improve Design Quality
Ascent IIV tool accelerates design debug
SUNNYVALE, Calif. and YOKOHAMA, Japan -- Nov. 11, 2013 -- Real Intent Inc., a leading provider of early RTL functional verification solutions, today announced that NEC Corporation ("NEC") has adopted the Ascent™ Implied Intent Verification (IIV) product from Real Intent for its LSI design flow. NEC uses Ascent IIV to verify the RTL for LSI designs used in communication systems. Real Intent Ascent IIV automatically finds elusive bugs in RTL prior to simulation and synthesis, without the need for test benches or formal assertions. Real Intent will exhibit its Ascent IIV advanced verification tool at EDSFair 2013 in the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall here next week.
"We selected Real Intent's solution because of the clear accuracy and debug advantages over other options," said Katsuhisa Ikeuchi, assistant manager, Network Platform Development Division, NEC Corporation. "We determined that the adoption of Ascent IIV in our flow will contribute to improved quality of LSI designs for our communication systems."
Using Ascent IIV, NEC is able to quickly load in its design and start seeing analysis results. The Ascent hierarchical reporting feature allows NEC to thoroughly debug designs and swiftly correct any errors that are found.
"Being able to automatically analyze RTL early in the design cycle, without the need to write assertions or test-benches, was key to our decision," added Ikeuchi. "The smart reporting of Ascent IIV greatly reduced the size of analysis results compared to other tools and provided equal or better accuracy of results. These advanced debugging capabilities help our designers debug in a short amount of time, and reduce design errors and turnaround time for our product development."
"NEC's adoption of our Ascent IIV product is a testament to the acceleration benefits that our solutions offer," said Prakash Narain, president and CEO, Real Intent. "We look forward to partnering with NEC for wider adoption of Real Intent technology in its design and verification flows."
