Aware, Inc announces availability of ADSL2 intellectual Property Solutions
ATLANTA, GA - June 3, 2002 - Aware, Inc. (NASDAQ: AWRE), a worldwide leader and innovator of broadband intellectual property, today announced availability of its ADSL2 intellectual property solutions.ADSL2 was recently consented by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and will be the successor to the current ADSL standards.
ADSL2 includes several important improvements, identified over the past three years of deployment, which will improve performance and ease provisioning of service.Performance improvements include enhanced data rates, longer reach, and diagnostics tools, and are designed to enhance the customer's DSL experience as well as the profitability of DSL services.
Aware's ADSL2 solution also provides support for ‘ADSL2+', an extension to the ADSL2 standard that doubles the ADSL bandwidth, enabling data rates greater than 20 Mbps on short phone lines.The new ADSL2+ standard is targeted for consent by the ITU in the beginning of 2003.Aware's ADSL2+ solution will also have an ADSL and ADSL2 mode enabling interoperability with legacy ADSL products.
Aware's intellectual property offering consists of complete RTL, firmware and system reference design information enabling silicon providers to easily integrate ADSL2 into multi-functional system-on-chip solutions.Aware's intellectual property solution delivers all required functionality including support for ITU ADSL and ADSL2 standards, ANSI standards and DSL Forum TR-048 technical recommendations.
