Quantenna Powers World's Fastest 802.11ac Dual-Band Wave 2 ASUS RT-AC87U Router
Industry’s fastest 4x4 MU-MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology from Quantenna to deliver unsurpassed performance in the newest high-end wireless home router from ASUS
LAS VEGAS – January 6, 2014 -- Quantenna Communications, Inc., a leader in ultra-reliable Wi-Fi networking for whole-home entertainment, and ASUS today at CES announced that Quantenna’s award-winning QSR1000 4x4 Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) chipset will power the ASUS RT-AC87U, the world’s fastest 802.11ac home router.
The RT-AC87U employs Quantenna’s 4x4 MU-MIMO chipset to deliver an unparalleled data throughput speed for the 5 GHz band (1.7 Gbps). Additionally, Quantenna’s superior digital beamforming will ensure whole home coverage when streaming rich multimedia, giving consumers the best Wi-Fi experience available. As the only wave 2, 802.11ac router in the market, Quantenna’s QSR1000 solution makes the RT-AC87U the only home router that can handle the future connected home bandwidth requirements, future proofing the consumer’s investment.
“Our customers value high-performance Wi-Fi and know the impact a reliable wireless connection has on their ability to stream bandwidth-intensive data, including video content,” said Tenlong Deng, associate vice president of Networking & Wireless Devices Business Unit for ASUS. “As wireless devices in the home continue to increase and consumers’ reliance on keeping connected at all times to live their daily lives is the norm, the importance people are putting on a great Wi-Fi experience is vastly elevated. That’s why we are so pleased to create this latest flagship router product with Quantenna.”
GSA's Private Awards Committee, comprised of members of the Emerging Company CEO Council, venture capitalists and select serial entrepreneurs in the industry, selects winners of the Start Up to Watch award by identifying the semiconductor company that demonstrates the potential to positively change its market or the semiconductor industry, in general, through the innovative use of semiconductor technology or a new application for semiconductor technology.
“With the increasing number of bandwidth-intensive activities occurring at once in the average home, consumers put great value in knowing that their Wi-Fi will deliver the wire-like reliability they need,” said Dr. Sam Heidari, CEO of Quantenna. “We are pleased to partner with ASUS to bring the first 802.11ac wave 2 home router to market, expanding our channels to consumers by bringing our Service Provider proven industry-leading performance into the retail segment.”
