NewLogic Announces First CMOS Bluetooth Radio IP Core on Independent Foundry Technology
Amsterdam, Bluetooth Congress; June 12th, 2002- NewLogic Technologies today announced the availability of its BOOST Radio (TM) intellectual property (IP) core.
The BOOST Radio is a 2.4GHz CMOS Bluetooth transceiver featuring low power consumption and small die size. The radio, provided as hard macro, is ideally suited for use in cost sensitive IC designs, where low power consumption is a key factor to success.
In conjunction with the BOOST Baseband Core(TM) and BOOST Software(TM), the BOOST Radio provides a complete Bluetooth system giving excellent performance data whilst being compliant with Bluetooth specification v1.1.
"We are proud to announce the first Bluetooth CMOS transceiver IP available on an independent foundry process. Bluetooth designs with integrated radio functionality have long been the dream of chip designers", said Mr. Hans-Peter Metzler, President and CEO of NewLogic. "The problem has always been designing a CMOS radio with no expensive external filters, and with the low power consumption demanded by portable applications. With the BOOST Radio, the designer needs to make no compromises either way."
NewLogic's BOOST Radio core has already been verified using a 0.18 micron CMOS process technology. Porting services to other CMOS process technologies are available upon request.
In addition to the BOOST Radio hard macro, a PCB reference design is available. Based on its outstanding experience in RF chip design, NewLogic provides extensive IP integration support, enabling customers to reach the best possible performance for their products.
NewLogic will demonstrate its BOOST (TM) IP products at the Bluetooth Congress 2002 (Booth 204) in Amsterdam, Netherlands from June 12th to June 14th.
