M31 Technology Announces its USB 3.0 PHY Completed TSMC IP Validation

Hsinchu, Taiwan -- February 18th, 2014 -- M31 Technology, the global boutique Intellectual Property (IP) provider announced that the company’s USB 3.0 PHY, developed for TSMC’s 55 nanometer (nm) low power process, has successfully completed validation and testing through the TSMC IP Validation Center Program. This IP has been broadly adopted by Taiwanese IC design houses and is expected to accelerate their time to market with low risk IP integration.

M31 Technology provides high-speed interface IPs and fundamental IPs including the MIPI M-PHY IP that completed TSMC’s IP Validation Center Program in September 2013. The IP validation covers testing of electrical characteristics and power consumption in a full range of USB 3.0 PHY specifications including SuperSpeed, HighSpeed and FullSpeed. With the completion of the TSMC IP verification, M31 demonstrates its high level of technical expertise and strength in multiple types of IP development technologies. M31’s USB 3.0 PHY integrates high-speed mixed signal circuitry that supports 5Gbps ultra high-speed transmission rates. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0 & USB 1.1. It is also optimized in both chip size and low power consumption. M31 continues to collaborate with TSMC to develop and validate the USB 3.0 PHY for TSMC 110nm, 55nm, 40nm and 28nm process technologies. The USB2.0 and USB3.0 PHY products have been USB-IF Certified since 2012.
